What is DemoCamp
Who:
Anyone involved in, or interested in the tech sector. In the past we have had everything from local Developers to Venture Capitalists to Entrepreneurs to Students to Designers to Angel Investors to Random People who thought it would be interesting.
What:
DemoCamp is a chance for the Edmonton tech community to get together, see what cool things other people are working on, and interact with other interesting people. We have 4-5 people who are working on tech projects come out and give them each 10 minutes to show off what they are doing. Afterward people head to a bar nearby to grab a drink and socialize further. The demoers have to actually demo a product (no boring powerpoint presentations allowed), the general theme is “Show Don’t Tell”.
When:
Recurring every couple of months. Check the blog for more details, or join the BarCampEdmonton Facebook Group.
Why:
Because there are a ton of incredible things going on in Edmonton’s tech sector that nobody knows about. It’s a great chance to see some of these incredible things and meet some of the other people working in the tech/startup industry in Edmonton. The goal is to foster the Edmonton tech community and the exchange of ideas. Who knows what might come out of it.
